Welcome to the home page of Rainbow Response, a grassroots coalition that brings together organizations and leaders from the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) communities, along with traditional domestic violence service providers and government agencies. We collaborate to increase the awareness about Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) amid the relationships of LGBTQ individuals, educating within the LGBTQ communities and beyond.

Our next major event, in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), will be an "open-mic night" for LGBTQ survivors of IPV, their friends and families, and anyone else impacted by this problem to raise their voices and held end the silence among us about intimate partner violence. "Raise Your Voice" will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Busboys & Poets, 14th and V Sts NW in the District. Download a PDF event leaflet here Questions or to let us know you want the mic, email info@RainbowResponse.org

More importantly, get a copy of our resource brochure in PDF to know where LGBTQ people can find help in the D.C. area and nationally! And look for us at the D.C. Pride festivals!

This website, is a continual work in progress. It offers information about Intimate Partner Violence and resources for beginning to heal from it. If you find something that does not work as expected,

We continually identify existing services that are provided in a manner respoectful of the unique identities of LGBTQ survivors of IPV, as well as batterers; and we advocate for the creation of more LGBTQ-specific or -sensitive services and adequate funding to support such services and all services for survivors of violence.
